Mr. Aaron John "Jay" Reep

Jay was born May 30, 1926 in Gaston County to the late Daniel Robert and Mammie Ellen Lynn Reep.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Willadeen Walker Reep, the mother of his children two daughters, Patricia and Teresa Reep and another wife,Rachel Shook Reep, five brothers, Robert, Ed, Elmo, Bill and Charles Evan Reep, three sisters, Zennie Jones, Millie Propst and Peggy Shine..

He was a member of Bethel Weslyan Church, a self employed plumber and a WW II veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Rosa Miller Reep of the home; daughters, Veanus Snapp and husband Bill of Myrtle Beach, SC and Renae Reep of Hickory; son, Aaron Clinton Reep and wife Teresa Shook Reep of Vale, step daughters; Marilyn Peek of Hickory and Helen Sloop of Hickory; step son, George Day of Hickory, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 16 step great-grandchildren, three sisters, Betty Reep Connell of Hickory, Rebecca Reep Hinnie of Greenville, NC, Davie Lee Reep Laffayell of Long Island, NY.

Services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at 2:30 PM at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Schrum and Rev. Bill Ashe officiating.

Interment will follow in Bethel Wesleyan Church Cemetery with graveside honors conducted by American Legion Post #48.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
