Alan Melton Wilson, 59, of Hickory, went to be with our Lord Wednesday evening, July 21, 2021, after his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and a special friend. He was preceded in death by his father, James Melton Wilson; and mother, Zana Florence Wilson. He was survived by his brother, Bruce Wilson (Janet) of Reidsville; niece Erin Wilson of Raleigh; and nephew, Jared McLaughlin of Reidsville. Alan graduated from Fred T Ford High School. He then attended Nashville auto Diesel College. His last employment was by Olde Hickory Brewery in Hickory as a mechanic. His grandfather, Robert Bruce Studebaker, worked for the railroad in Efland, NC. This stirred an interest in trains which continued throughout his adult life.
