Albert W. Davis

Albert W. Davis, 81, passed away January 1, 2017 at Conover Nursing and Rehab Center in Conover. Born November 20, 1935, in Yancey County, NC, he was the son of the late Earnest Robert and Lena Bell Styles Davis. For many years, Albert owned and operated three service stations. He loved to go to the flea markets, he enjoyed old cars and raced at Hickory Motor Speedway.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred Davis and Ray Davis; his sister, Isleen Shinn and nephew, Johnny Davis.

He is survived by his special friend and caregiver, Terry Hall; mother of his children, Loretta Kuhn; sons, Darrell L. Davis and Robert Galen Davis; grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Caleb Davis and Halee Davis; great-granddaughter, Abigail Davis; brother, Ralph Davis and wife Vickey; sister, Jewel Bollinger and husband Daniel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Rev. Jackie Price officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethel United Methodist Church, 80 28th Street NW, Hickory, NC 28601 or Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
