April Ruth Cogdell

Conover – April Ruth Cogdell, 22, passed away on Friday, October 3rd, 2014 at Duke Medical Center after a brief illness. April was born on October 17, 1991 in Catawba County to her mother, Sherry Thompson Cogdell and her father William Lee Cogdell. April was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She had worked for Build-A-Bear Workshop in Greensboro in sales. She was a recent graduate of UNC Greensboro, with a BS Degree in Biology and planned to attend medical school. April was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather George Robert Thompson Jr. Surviving are her mother, Sherry Thompson Cogdell, grandmother Ruth Isenhour Thompson, both of Conover, her uncle and aunt, Larry and Janice Thompson of Lexington, boyfriend Justin Cash of Conover, special aunt, Donna West of Dothan, Alabama and April’s father, William Lee Cogdell and his wife Penny of Granite Falls, and numerous friends. The family will receive friends at Hickory Funeral Home on Monday October 6th, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday October 7th 2014 at 3:00 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig Schultz and Rev. Delbert Roth officiating.
