

Mr. Hollar was born June 03, 1932 in Hickory, NC, son of the late William Franklin and Nellie Jarrett Hollar. In addition to his parents Mr. Hollar was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Fay Hollar, nephew, Charles Lee Hollar Jr. and a brother Theodore Ray Hollar.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years , Martha Temple Hollar, son, William Franklin “Bill” Hollar ll and wife Jane of Charlotte, daughter, Ann Frances Hollar of Atlanta GA, granddaughters, Melissa Hollar Culp and husband Jeff , Lindsey Fay Hollar and fiance Robert Dryden and great grandson, Hardin Evan Culp all of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his siblings, Susie Duffey, Charles Lee Hollar and wife Carolyn, Alfred Carl Hollar and wife Nancy, Carolyn “Sissy’ Poovey and husband Kenneth and Barbara Hollar; nephews and nieces, Marty Hollar and wife Sherry, Mitch Hollar, Michael Hollar, Molly Watts and husband Chris, Paul Duffey and wife Bonnie, Kim Starnes and husband Sam, Elaine Robinson and husband Matt and many great nephews and nieces.
Mr. Hollar attended Clevenger College in Hickory, NC and taught insurance courses at Rowan Technical College.
Mr. Hollar began his career as an insurance salesman and devoted the majority of his career as a manager at several car dealerships throughout NC, SC and TN and retired from Montgomery Mazda in Rock Hill, SC.
“B” as he was lovingly called by his granddaughters enjoyed hunting and fishing. One of his favorite fishing locations was Fontana Dam where he had many happy memories of fun times with family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday January 10th, 2012 at West Hickory Baptist Church the Reverend Scott Frady officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 10th, 2012 from 2:45 – 3:45 PM at West Hickory Baptist Church.
