Betty Lou Pitts Hathcock

Newton – Betty Lou Pitts Hathcock, 83 passed away October 20, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice after a period of declining health.Betty was born January 25, 1930 in Catawba County to the late Henry Pitts and Nettie Church Pitts. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Hathcock, four brothers, and four sisters.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughters Charlene Kistler (Fred) of Newton, Gale Shook (David) of Hickory. Grandchildren Gannon Tolbert, Tina Gonda, Lora Beal, Michelle Bollinger, Deanna Shook, Mark Shook, Terry Shook, and Richard Shook. Great Grandchildren, Brandon Winstead, Baylie Beal, Brooke Beal, Chelsey Bollinger, Jana Bollinger, Marcus Gonda, Maranda Tolbert, Madison Tolbert, Kelly Shook, Kristen Saine, Kyle Shook, Ritchie Shook, and Melissa Gray. The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM with the funeral service starting at 2:00 PM with Reverend John Duncan officiating.
