

He was born on February 24, 1941, to the late Beeler M. Leonhardt and Pauline Martin Leonhardt in Catawba County. Billie was retired as Chief of Propst Crossroads Fire Department and upholster at TCS. He was still an active member of the Fire Department serving for 58 years for his community. Billie was also a lifetime member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Edna Hilton.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Stallings Leonhardt of the home; sons, Derrick Leonhardt of the home, Brian Leonhardt of the home; brothers, Jerald Leonhardt and wife Carolyn of Newton, Dean Leonhardt and wife Cheryl of Hickory; and brother-in-law, Don Hilton.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Pastor Allen Boliek will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Dale Leonhardt, Larry Dickinson, Ryan Gettys, Steve Sellers, Johnny Martin, Gary Leonhardt. Propst Crossroads Volunteer Firemen will be serving as honorary pallbearers. Fire Fighters Last Call Ceremony and Post 544 Military Honors will be held in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 8840 Cooksville Road, Vale, NC 28168.
