HICKORY— Billy Dean Buckner, 63 passed away November 15, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice in Winston-Salem. Billy was born November 22, 1952 in Gaston County to the late Horace and Virginia Crump Buckner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Glenn Buckner and Jack Wayne Buckner; brother-in-law JD Hicks and sister-in-law Noreen Buckner. He is survived by his son Bill Buckner and wife Lisa of Hopatcong, NJ; grandchildren Brianne and Brandon Buckner of Hopatcong, NJ; his sisters Judy Eldridge of Winston-Salem and Sue Hicks of Winston-Salem; brothers Charles Buckner of Hickory, William “Buck” Buckner and wife Mary Ann of Lenoir and Gary Lee Buckner and wife Joan of Connelly Springs. A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 2:00pm at Fairview Cemetery with Ernie Richards officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.hickoryfh.com.
