

Billy was born June 29th, 1924 in Catawba County to the late Lillian Celeste Reitzel Mingus.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two granddaughter; Neiko Smith and Kimberly Dawn Turpin .
Billy was of the Lutheran Faith a World WarII Army Veteran and was a member of The American Legion Post#48 and Disabled American Veterans, he was a retired mail carrier from the U.S. Postal Service after 36 years of faithful service.
Surviving are his wife; Violet Christine Walker Reitzel of Hickory, two daughters; Delores Ann Reitzel Wells of Claremont , Sherry Reitzel Downs of Iron Station, N.C., two sons; Gary Lynn Reitzel of Hickory and R.L. Reitzel of Alexander County N.C., twelve grandchildren , twenty-nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren .
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday , September 28th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with the Reverend Eric Hollar officiating
Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park with Military honors by American Legion Post #48.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 27th ,2010 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be;Lee Horne, Brian Horne, Bill Hoobgood, Gary Reitzel Jr., Dee Dee Reitzel and Michael Titus.
