Mrs. Bonnie Townsend Whitener

Bonnie was born December 2nd, 1919 in Georgia to the late Otis and Mary Etta Lail Townsend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Whitener, a daughter, Phyllis Whitener and nine brothers and sisters.

Bonnie was a member of Royal Chapel Church of God and retired from G.C. Murphy Company..

Surviving are two sons: David Allen Whitener and wife Peggy of Lewisville TX, F.Gene Whitener of Greer, SC, a son-in-law; Glenn Rhoney of Vale, four granddaughters; Sandra Towery of Vale, Janice Tucker of Moore, SC, Wendy Earley of Flower Mound, TX, Julie Sherman of Lewisville, TX, two grandsons, Jeffrey Rhoney of Hickory, Kevin Whitener of Easly, SC and a brother: Otis Townsend Jr. of Hickory

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 8th2011 at 2:00 P. M. at Royal Chapel Church of God with the Reverend David Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday March 8th2011 from 12:30 until 1:45 P. M. at Royal Chapel Church of God.
