Boyce Dean Briscoe

He was born on September 24, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Solomon Forest and Clara Lilly Simpson Briscoe. He was a devoted member of West Hickory Baptist Church. Boyce was an avid Dodger, NC State, and Minnesota Viking fan. He also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his family. Boyce was a loving, Christian man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Boyce is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Imagean Griffin Briscoe, brothers; Forney Briscoe, Jack S. Briscoe, Doyle L. Briscoe, sisters; Pansey Hinsley, Gladys Dogget, and Lucille Toney. Survivors include his son, Kenneth Briscoe and wife Barbara of Newton, daughters; Sharon Lynn Settlemyre and husband Richard of Newton, Clara Julanne Swink and husband Chuck of Newton, grandchildren; Kevin James, April Lowe, Patrick Swink, Tabatha Swink, Joshua Swink, step-grandchildren; Leigh Wilson, Victoria Nelson, and Timothy Settlemyre, seven great grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8th at 12:00 p.m. at West Hickory Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the church. Pastor Scott Frady will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. Military Honors will be conducted by The American Legion Post 48. Pallbearers for the service will include, Patrick Swink, Joshua Swink, Kevin James, Jamey Lowe, Stewart Briscoe, and Wayne Toney. The family would like to thank the staff of Cambridge House for their exceptional care they gave to Boyce during his stay.
