Brenda Gail Huffman

Newton – Brenda “Gail” Martin Huffman, 84 of Newton went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 14th, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born on January 22nd, 1940 in Catawba County, NC, Brenda was the daughter of the late James Edward and Louise Sigmon Martin. Gail was a member of Startown First Baptist Church in Newton, NC. She worked in the furniture industry as a seamstress most of her life. She lived her life to the fullest and loved spending time with her family and friends, as well as working with the children in church and witnessing for God inviting others to experience God’s love, mercy and grace. She was loved by all and will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Jones and her brother, Sonny Presley.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her daughter, Cindy Hudson and husband, Eddie; 2 sons, Rocky Sigmon and wife, Kathy and James Sigmon and wife, Renee; 7 grandchildren, Alisha Moore, Jesse Sigmon and wife, Alicia, Simon Burke, James Sigmon, III, Joshua Moses, Matthew Moses and Tiffany and Ford “Joey” Andrews; 8 great grandchildren, Kiersta Moses and Zach, Jerry Moore, III, Lillie Moore, Brooklyn Sigmon, Bentley Sigmon, Anisley Sigmon, Nevaeh Moses and Finley Rogers and a great-great grandchild, Zaiden Rojo.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Thursday, June 20th, 2024 at 10:00 am with Pastor William Church officiating. Burial will follow the service at Catawba Memorial Park officiated by Deacon Joe Propst.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring of Newton in Gail’s name.
