HICKORY – Eric Young 51, of Hickory passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Carolina Caring.
HE was born on April 22, 1969 in Burke County to David Lynn Young and Paulette Houston Young. Eric was a 1987 graduate of East Burke High School. He was employed by Foothills Correctional Center as a correctional Officer. Eric was an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents. Paul and Ruth Houston and Alex and Virgie Young., his Aunt, Nancy Houston Poarch.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, David Lynn Young of Icard; mother, Paulette Houston Young of Hildebran; daughter, Erica Ware and husband J.T.; the mother of his daughter, Candy Clark; son, Bryan Alexander Young; the mother of his son, Tamara Young; sister, Crystal Young Thomas and husband Ricky; and niece Ava Thomas.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 1 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Bradley Daniels officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service.
