Calvin Edward Gross

Calvin was born April 17, 1957 in Catawba Co. to the late Carl Edward and Bertie Mae Killian Gross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Spec 4th. Class Jimmy Ray Gross.

He was employed by the Catawba County School System in maintenance, was of the Mennonite faith and a member of Propst Crossroads Fire Dept as a volunteer fireman.

Surviving are his sisters, Rachel Powell and husband, Charles, of the home, Judy Buff of Hickory, Wilma Walker and husband, Raymond, of Hickory, Pauline Godshall and husband, Rev. Ed Godshall, of Newton and Sgt. 1st Class Mary Sue Hilliard of Newton.

Services will be Thursday, July 19, at 4:00 P. M. at Mountain View Mennonite Church with Pastor Chuck Hostetter and Chaplains Troy Stallings and Gary Weaver officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M.
