Hickory – Carl Henry Bryant, 85 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born on July 1, 1936 in Tazewell County, VA, he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Mary Walker Bryant.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by a son, Carl Jr. and 2 sisters, Dorothy Brown of Bluefield, WVA and Joyce Gomes of Roxbury, MA.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lillie Patterson Bryant of the home: a daughter, Sylvia Bryant, of Boston MA; a son, Carl A. Bryant of Hickory NC and wife Suwaina, a daughter, Shelia Wells and Bradley of Hickory NC, a son, Charles Bryant and Christie Robinson of Hickory NC, a son, Darnell Bryant of Hickory NC, a daughter, Janet Bryant of Bluefield WVA, a son, Curtis Bryant of Bluefield WVA, a Special Niece Glory Cary and husband, Jackson Cary, of Hickory NC, and a number of nieces, nephews, grands and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Russell Taylor and Rev. William Harbison, Jr officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring of Newton in Carl’s name.
