Carl Linwood Sigmon

Carl was born February 27, 1929 in Mecklenburg Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Benfield Sigmon, mother, Edith Smyre Campbell and step father, Zeddie Campbell 2 sisters and a brother.

He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and was Co-Owner of YE&S Hosiery, an avid fisherman. He was president of the Catawba Valley Hosiery Assoc. in 1976 and was elected and served on the Board for several years and was a member of the Fairbrook Volunteer Fire Dept. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1946 – 1948.

Surviving are his sons; Alan Sigmon and wife, Donna, of Bethlehem and Gary Sigmon of Boone; granddaughters, Kristy Smith and husband, Haskew, of Newton, Kelly McLaurin and husband, Dave, of Banner Elk and Brandi Sigmon and husband, Benny Mote, of Iowa; grandsons, Kyle Sigmon and wife, Elise, of Boone and Keith Sigmon and wife, Ivette, of Mt. View; 9 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Friday, August 9, at 11:00 A. M. at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen T. Johnson and Rev. Jim Evans officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday from 9:45 – 10:45 AM at the church.
