Cecelia “CC” Spencer Worley, 79 of Hickory, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on March 28th, 1947, in Burke County, NC, Cecelia was the daughter of the late Marvin Lee Spencer and Belle Watts Spencer. CC loved going to yard sales and visiting family and friends. She was an avid squirrel and birdwatcher. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Lewis Worley; her four sisters, Phyllis Poore, Betty Mosteller, Peggy Ray, and Jennifer Spencer; her three brothers, William Lee, Claude Eugene, and Donald Ray.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Rebecca Maltry and husband Chris Maltry, Tammy LaPage; her son, Lewis Ray Worley; her 4 grandchildren, Chris (Bubba) Maltry, Joe Maltry, Tabbatha Cook, and William (Billy) LaPage II, as well as her nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Quincy Spencer and her sister, Mary Shook.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. She will be laid to rest at Catawba Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
