Mr. Charles Leonard Powell

Charles was born on November 3rd 1935 in Burke County to the late Bart and Louise Rhoda Buckner Powell and was married to the late Sharon Petty Powell.

He was the owner of Midway Service Center in Newton..

Surviving are four daughters; Mitzie Powell Wilkerson and husband DeWayne of the home, Shirley Powell Bennett and husband Tom of Indian Trail,NC, Kimberly Powell Ragan and husband Charles of Swannanoa, NC, Tracey Powell Hyler and husband Cameron of Clyde TX, two sons; Douglas Scott Hannah and wife Christine of Lincolnton, NC and Charles Kevin Powell and wife Karen of Swannanoa, NC, twenty-one grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.

A receiving will be held at 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. with a memorial service to follow on Monday November 8th 2010 at Corinth Baptist Church in Vale, NC with the Reverend William Kanupp officiating.

The family will be at the home located at 407 North Caldwell Avenue, Newton, NC 28658.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Corinth Baptist Church 7929 West NC 10 Hwy. Vale, NC 28168.
