Christopher Richard Haas

Christopher was born November 29, 1964 in Perth-Amboy, N. J. to Doris Ecker Haas and the late Horace R. Haas.

He was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church and an agent for the N. C. SBI. He was also an eagle scout with the Boy Scouts and continued to volunteer with the Scouts, as a Watchdog volunteer at Mountain View Elementary and was a leader in his church.

Surviving is his wife, Cynthia Knox Haas of the home; son, Dylan Richard Haas ; daughter, Gretchen Marie Haas; sisters, Susan Ajygin of Raleigh and Diana Walls and husband, Steve, of Kenya, Africa; nephew, Nick Walls and a niece, Erin Waked. Also surviving is Gretchen’s mother, Susan Walker.

A memorial service will be Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 2:00 P. M. at St. Albans Episcopal Church with Rector Tryggvi Arnason officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.

A trust fund is being set up by NC SBI for his children. Contributions may be made payable to Memorial Fund for the children of Chris Haas, c/o People’s Bank-Viewmont Office, ATT; Kelly Hedrick, 1333 2nd st., N. E., Hickory, N. C. 28601.
