He was born on Sept. 30, 1937 to the late Garfield Woody Sr. and Elizabeth Johnson Woodie in Catawba County. Clarence worked at Cox Manufacturing from the age of 16 until his retirement.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant children, Tracey Woody and Timmy Woody; sisters, Glades Thomas, Annie Curtis, Nannie Shytle, and Norma Oldaker; and brother, Garfield Woody Jr..
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Edmison Woody of the home; sister-in-law, Linda Edmison of the home; sister, Peggy Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Kyle DeLong will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
