

Clyde Eugene “Buck” Killian, 76, of Conover, went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2014 at his residence. A veteran of the US Army, he was an active member of Miller’s Lutheran Church and retired as a woodcarver in the furniture business. Born April 1, 1938 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Cloyd Killian and Bertie Lail Killian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and his dog, Annabelle, whom he had for fifteen years.
Buck is survived by his wife Barbara Herman Killian; sons Ricky Killian and Randy Killian of Conover, sister; Jeanette Canipe and husband Alfred of Hickory; brothers, Bobby Killian and wife Deanie of Hickory and Darrell Killian of Conover.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Miller’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Rhodes officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Miller’s Lutheran Church, Heating and Air-conditioning Fund, 2280 12th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
