Connie Pope McDonald

Connie Pope McDonald (51) of Frederick, MD has gone home to be with the Lord. Born August 7th, 1970 to the late Carl and Nancy Hedrick of Hickory, NC, she was a graduate of Saint Stephens High School. Connie had a love for real estate and interior design; however, her true passion was helping her family with whatever they needed or wanted. She will be remembered by many, especially by those who called her wife, mom, aunt, sister, or friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family (especially her precious golden retriever, Ruger and husband, Matthew McDonald). Connie lived her life with a servant’s heart and showed selfless love to her children, husband, and family.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Matthew McDonald of Frederick, MD; two brothers, Michael Hedrick of Phoenix, AZ and Andy Hedrick of Milwaukee, WI; and her three children, Dakota Pope (Bailey Pope) of Columbia, TN, Ariel Pope of Nashville, TN, and Alexandra Nare of Dillsburg, PA.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned; however, the family is planning to hold a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to My Quiet Cave (a nonprofit which equips faith communities to promote mental wellness for adults and teens through peer-led support groups). To donate please visit
