

Dale was born July 4, 1920 in Catawba Co. to the late Henry L. and Edith Reitzel Drum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Wilson Drum, 2 sons; Gary Dale Drum and Mark Wilson Drum and 3 brothers; Bryce, Harry and Fred Drum.
He was a lifelong member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod and was very active in the church, retired from Hickory Business Furniture Co. and a veteran of WW II served in the U. S. army.
Surviving are his daughters; Sallie Hollar and husband, Gene of Hickory and Cathy Drum of Claremont, his son; Charles “Chuck” Drum and wife, Susanne of Conover, granddaughters; Kathryn “Katie” Lockee and Kinsley Drum, grandsons; Steven Hollar, Craig Hollar, Mike Reynolds, Jason Reynolds and Darin Drum, great-granddaughters; Brianne Lockee, Sydney Hollar, Bethany Hollar, great-grandsons; Bryson Lockee and Chance Reynolds, sisters; Helen Sigmon of Conover, Frances Gilbert of Hickory, Margie Gilbert of Indianapolis, IN and Carolyn Combs and husband, Bill of Virginia Beach, VA, brother; Dave Drumm and wife, Chris of Williams, OR, and a sister-in-law; Hazel Drum of Conover.
Memorial service Saturday, December 24, 2011, at 10:00 AM at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod with the Reverend David Guelzow and Reverend David Ziehr officiating.
The family will receive friends in the narthex of the church following the service Saturday.
