Dorothy Hilton Propst

Born January 3, 1927 in Catawba County, she was daughter of Carrie Heavner Hilton and Clyde Leroy Hilton.

Dorothy was member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Propst; two brothers, Lafayette Hilton, Warren Hilton; two sisters, Martha H. Flowers and Sadie H. Butts, son-in-law, Dwayne Pendergrast; and her great grandchild, Hunter McConnell.

She is survived by five children, Jacob D. Shronce of Hickory, George Austin Propst of Winston Salem, Ruth P. Pendergrast of Granite Falls, Irene Propst of Conover, Louise Propst of Hickory, grandchildren, Tammy Shronce McConnell, Karen Pendergrast, Mary DeVenney, Martha DeVenney, great grandchildren, Makenzie McConnell and Kylie McConnell, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. David McHale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesley Chapel Cemetery Fund, 2613 Wesley Chapel Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
