Dorothy (Kiziah) Turner

Born in Catawba County on June 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late McCoy and Thelma Gibson Kiziah.

In addition to her parents, her sister Colleen Jonas, and her son-in-law Wendell Myers preceded her in death.

Dot was a godly wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who left a legacy of serving her family, her church and her community with Christ-like passion. She modeled her life after the biblical example expressed in Proverbs 31. Throughout her life and in the last few weeks she finished her race always “Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of her faith”

She is survived by her husband of 70 years (celebrated in May), Jerry Turner of the home; daughter Deborah Myers of Claremont; sons, Randy Turner and wife Kim of Hickory, Don Turner and wife Mary Beth of Hickory, and David Turner of Hildebran, sister Genora Carroll of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren Madison Yount and husband Jonathan, Matthew Turner and fiancé Katie Swink, Jessica Arnold and husband Konrad, Natalie Arrowood and husband Jared, Erica Davis and husband Steven, Jason Turner and wife Amanda, Joy Thompson and husband Timothy, Leigha Wilson (Jaryd Shore) and Christina Myers; great grandchildren, Shiloh Yount, Anchor Yount, Turner Arrowood, Maeve Arnold, Hank Arnold, Christopher Turner, Lily Turner, Lucas Turner, Ella Davis, Jasmyn White, Kyla White, Sierra White, Zion Thompson and Olivia Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Hickory Bible Church.

The funeral will be Friday August 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Bible Church with Pastor Adam Ashoff and Pastor Kurtis Massey officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
