HICKORY---Eddie Dean Bryant,52, of Hickory passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice—Newton following a brief illness.Eddie was born February 11, 1961 in Martinsville, Va. to Clarence Leon and Loretta Lockhart Bryant.He was a truck driver for MDI.Surviving are his wife, Melvina Denise Bowden Bryant of the home; daughter, Nicole Denise Bryant of the home; son, Cody Randolph Bryant of Old Fort, NC; grandsons, Zachary, Cody and Noah Bryant of the home and Braidon Bryant of Old Fort, NC; parents, Clarence and Loretta Bryant of Tazewell, Va; sister, Sherry Bryant of Tazewell, Va; brothers, David Bryant of Conover, Douglas Bryant and wife, Rhoda of Busy, Ky, Barry Bryant and wife Susan of Roanoke, Va and Dennis Bryant and wife, Jamie of Dallas, Tx. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday January 21,2014 at 6:30 P.M.in the chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with the Reverend Douglas Bryant officiating.The family will receive friends following the service at Hickory Funeral Home.
