On January 21, 2023, Elma Giordano Jimes passed away at the age of 94. In her final moments, she was surrounded by love and family in the comfort of her own home. She lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and strong family values. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones, but her memory will live on through the love and guidance she provided to her family and friends.
“Miss Elma” was a true southern lady, known for her style and beauty. With her bright blue eyes and calm demeanor, she was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend. She loved each one of her seven children with a love that reached "to the stars and back." Born on July 25th, 1928 in Andrews, South Carolina, she was one of nine children to Calvin Herbert Benton and Eunice Poston Benton. She was raised with a strong faith in God and always spread His wisdom, love, and joy to those around her. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her heart and joy, and she loved them all equally. She taught them the importance of prayer, gratitude, and the belief in eternal life. Miss Elma's elegance, charm and grace will forever be remembered by her loved ones.

Loved ones left to cherish memories of her until they meet again are her four sons: Ron Giordano (Terri); Don Giordano (Dianne); Perry Giordano (Patsy); Ralph Giordano; her three daughters: Melisa Schwab (Caregiver) (Bob); Cindy Glass; Teresa McCutchen (Terry); her sister-in-law’s: Joann Benton; Betty Ann Benton; her 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Stubbs officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 PM – 1 PM at the funeral home.
