ELSIE CATHERINE GREGORY HICKORY – Elsie Catherine Dennie Gregory, 83 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2016. Born on July 29, 1932 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Gibson and Nettie Dennie. Elsie was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Alice Dennie; infant daughter, Reba Jean Franklin; three brothers, David Hal Dennie, Troy and Ray Cresawn. Survivors include her sons, Roger Dale Franklin and family of Hudson; Travis A. Gregory of Hickory; one grandson; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 12 PM at Catawba Memorial Park with Pastor Tim Hertzel officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11-11:45 AM. Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658.
