Emily Spencer Christenbury

CONOVER— Emily Spencer Christenbury, 95 of Conover passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Trinity Village. She was born October 16, 1920 in Catawba County to the late Herbert Leroy and Myrtle Artille Propst Spencer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband HermanT. Christenbury Sr. Emily is survived by her daughters Tamara Stewart and husband Dwight of Claremont; Kathy Frye and husband Steve of Hickory; her son Herman “Sonny” Christenbury of Hickory; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; her sisters Margery Cline of Bethlehem and Wilma Kersey of High Point. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00am to 10:45am at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo-Synod. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo-Synod with Reverend David Guelzow and Reverend David Ziehr. Burial will follow in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo-Synod 2304 Springs Road NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
