Evelyn Marie Wilson Chapman

Vale – Evelyn Marie Wilson Chapman, 89 of Vale, NC went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Born on November 27, 1929 in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late Avery Calvin Wilson and Marie Davis Wilson Hill. She loved her family and spending time with them. She loved to cook and could make anything taste good.

Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband William Raymond Chapman of 45 years; a great grandchild, Katelyn Marie Walker and 2 brothers, 4 sisters and a son-in-law, James Bolick.

Survivors include, 3 sons, Billy Raymond Chapman and wife Barbara, Larry Dale Chapman and wife Nancy, Gary Todd “Butch” Chapman and wife Debbie, 2 daughters, Cathy Bolick and Sandy Buchanan and husband Bruce; 2 sisters, Hazel Hoyle and Faye Hill; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and was expecting another great grandchild Owen Daniel in October.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on August 18 , 2019 at 3:00 pm.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm prior to the service with Rev. Tim Campbell officiating. Burial to follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
