She was born in Catawba County on March 20, 1938, she was the daughter to the late Carl and Ocie Elma Story Waters.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David L. Thompson; her daughter Sherry Dellaquila; a sister Shirley Wilson and a brother Roy Waters.
She is survived by her sisters Rita Dellinger of Hickory, Doris Yount and husband David of Hickory and Kay Dixon of Hickory; a brother Ted Waters of Hickory; ‘her girls” Tammy Guess, Angie Setzer and Mandy Church, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home.
Memorial service will be held, Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with David Church and Luke Church officiating.
