FRANCES DARLENE LEDFORD NEWTON – Frances Darlene Ledford, 41, of Newton went home to be with her Lord on October 4, 2014 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born on March 21, 1973 in Haywood County, she was the daughter of Kathy Deaton and the late Charles William Ledford. Darlene was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, sister, girlfriend, and friend to all who knew her. She loved going to yard sales and thrift stores. Darlene had a heart of gold and would do anything for her family and friends to help them. She loved animals and would rescue them to give them a chance at a better life. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Michael Ledford, three uncles and one aunt. Survivors include her mother, Kathy Deaton of Newton, children, Casey and Matthew Ledford of Newton; brother, James Ledford of Newton; boyfriend, Gene Warren of Claremont; uncle, Wayne Moore of Canton, aunt, Colette Parkins of Clyde; and numerous nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 6 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
