

Frank Xiong a.k.a. "Pa Ntxuam Xyooj ," 65, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, at his home in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by family. Frank was born on May 8, 1959, in Sam Nuea, Laos. His early life was deeply influenced by the Hmong participation in the Laotian Civil War ("the Secret War"). Frank fled his war-torn country and resettled in California in the late 1970s. It was there that he met his co-survivor and loving wife, May Vang, in Fresno, California. Together, they built a life and family.
Frank worked as a farmer and bus driver before moving his family across the country to Charlotte, NC, in 1996. He dreamed of retiring from his job as a machine operator to enjoy his hobbies such as watching football, fishing, hunting, and raising chickens.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, May (Vang) Xiong; his eight children and their spouses: Xay and wife Zoua, Pa Houa and husband Bey, Azelie and husband Ernest, Christina and husband Joshua, Eric and wife Akami, Sarah and husband Johnny, Danny and wife Macy, and daughter Brenda. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place at Hmong Unified Chapel on 12/20/2024 through 12/22/2024.
