Mr. Gary Lee Storie

CLAREMONT –Gary Lee Storie born April 12th, 1947, has gone to be with his savior after a declining illness. He is of the Baptist faith. He was born to Edna P. Andrews and the late Carl Lee Storie Sr. of Caldwell County.

He retired from Bowman Roofing & Sheet Metal Company. He loved fishing, dogs, old cars and working with his hands in his building.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Shirley Ray of SC, Peggy Mays of Alexander County, granddaughter, Casey D. Huffman of Burke County, his four legged friend of 16 years “Harley Dawn”

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Shiron, one brother, Carl Lee Storie Jr. and wife Winna of Caldwell County, three sons, Gary Jr. Story, Steve Story, Carl Story and wife Tammy all of Caldwell County, two step-sons, Tommy Huffman and wife Kim of Burke County, Michael Huffman , two step-daughters, Lori Dennis and Tamra Lefevers ,all of Hickory, a special niece, Sheila Sammons of SC, two loyal companions of the home “Rebel” and “Stormy”, four favorite friends, Barney Scott, Donald Bolton, J.R. Zimmermann and Dana Chapman. He has fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday , February 7th , 2012, at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with Pastor and neighbor C. Bob Stewart officiating.
