Gary Dean Walker Sr.

He was born on September 26, 1947 to the late Berlin Eugene and Janie Costner Walker in Cleveland County. Dean was a United States Army Veteran.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Reba Walker.

Survivors include his sons, Junior Walker and wife Carole of Hickory, Tim “Slaw” Walker of Vale; grandchildren, Jessica Walker, Justin Walker, Brycen Walker, Lucas Walker, Nevaeh Peterson; brothers, Ken Walker and wife Wanda, Johnny Walker and wife Vickie, Buster Walker and wife Jean; numerous nieces and nephews; and special dog, Buddy.

The family would to recognize longtime friends and employer, Tom and Jan Hester at Hester Enterprises in Gastonia for their loving support and friendship they’ve shown Dean over the recent years.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Pastor Allen Boliek will be officiating the service. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
