Georgia Jenkins Adcox

GEORGIA ADCOX CONOVER – Georgia Ellen Jenkins Adcox, 84 of Conover passed away on February 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 22, 1931 in Macon County TN, she was the daughter of the late Vergil and Effie Huffines Jenkins. Georgia was a long time member of Hickory Church of Christ. She loved to sew, quilt, and especially cooked for her family. Georgia and her husband, James were owners and operators of Adcox Hosiery. She was a member of The Red Hat Society. While at Abernethy Laurels she was the spelling bee and Wii bowling champion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Adcox; son-in-law, Carl Hawn; sister, Margie Martin and brother, Raybon Jenkins. Survivors include her children, Janet Hawn of Conover, Debbie Killian and husband, Steve of Hickory, Jimmie Link and husband Robert of Conover, Randy Adcox and wife Kim of Conover, Jackie Adcox and friend Lori Dennis of Hickory; grandchildren, Carla Yoder and husband Jason of Conover, Bryan Killian and wife Crystal of Franklin, NC, Tyler Killian and wife Kristen of Hickory, Eric Adcox and wife Katie of Sherrills Ford, Dana Adcox of Conover, Robbie Link and wife Heather of Conover, Brandi Link of Hickory; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Robbie “Kat” Kirby of Hickory, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2 PM at Hickory Church of Christ, located on Fairgrove Church Rd with Kevin Bibbee officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. The family will be at the home of Jimmie and Robert Link. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Church of Christ Building Fund, 1218 Fairgrove Church Rd SE, Conover, NC 28613 or the charity of your choice.
