Dear Dr. Campbell,

I just heard about your mom. I am so sorry. As am I thinking of you, I can imagine the love, care, and inspiration you must have had from her that made you such a special person. Please accept my condolences. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you.

Dr. Campbell and Family,

My deepest condolences on the lost of your Mom.  I would like to share with you one of my favorite poems on the loss of loved ones.  This poem has comforted me during times of loss in my family.  It is my hope and prayer that in some small way it also provides a moment of comfort to you and your family during this difficult time.

Gone From My Sight
by Henry Van Dyke

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone"

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

And that is dying...

Death comes in its own time, in its own way.
Death is as unique as the individual experiencing it.

Aunt Georgie was the sweetest person that I have ever known. I was so blessed to be apart of her family. Thankful that she has now been reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Uncle Harry.  They both were amazing people. I loved her and will miss Aunt Georgie for as long as I live. Dale, my prayers are with you. She was so very proud of you. God bless you.

Dale, I am very sorry to hear about your Mother.  I live in Tulsa, OK. and it is a little hard to get home sometimes.  We s send our deepest sympathy and our prayers.  Steve & Earline Lewis.  You are in our thoughts ane Prayers.

Dale,  I know your mother must have been proud of you and the rest of her family.  She gave us all a gift in raising you.  You have a lot of friends thinking about you and sending their support.

Dr. Campbell and family:

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Her legacy will live forever.

While I never had the pleasure of meeting Georgie, I have had the great pleasure in working with her son Dale for more than a decade. He spoke of her often and I can see a lot of her (from his stories) in her son. We all think about the legacies that we leave behind, a bank account, a sports record, some physical property but all too often we forget our legacies are cemented in our children and our childrens children. I can only wish that I can do half as good with my kids as she has done with hers. She will be missed but I am sure I will continue to her all about her and I hope I continue to do so. 

My deepest sympathies to the families on the loss of this wonderful lady. My families thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
