Mr. Grady David Crump Sr.

Grady was born September 27, 1937 in Catawba Co. to the late Jones Edward and Margaret Gobel Crump. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Clark Crump, two brothers and two sisters.

He was a member of Penelope Baptist Church, a former Town of Long View Alderman for 20 years. He was a Veteran of the NC National Guard, American Legion Post #48 Hickory.

Surviving are a son; Grady Crump Jr. and wife Angel of Connelly Springs, a daughter, Julie Evans and husband Mike of Hudson three granddaughters, Danielle Cornette and husband Frankie of Hickory, Alicia McGee and Eric of Cajah’s Mtn, Amanda Evans of Hudson, one grandson, Michael Evans II of Hudson, one great-granddaughter, Khloe Faith Cornette of Hickory, two brothers, William H. Crump of Connelly Springs, Kenneth Crump of Shelby, three sisters, Sarah Eckard of Hickory, Betty Blackburn of Newton and Marjorie McDermott of Concord. ,.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31 2012, at 2:00 P. M. at Penelope Baptist Church with Reverend Don Ingle officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Grady Crump, Jr., Frankie Cornette, Eric McGee, Ronnie Johnson, Sam Portis and Tim Blackburn. Honorary Pallbearers, Richard Blackburn, Bill Burkamps, Ed Crump.
