Born in Catawba County on June 14, 1958, he was the son of Sally Champion Thomas and the late CG Thomas.
Grady was a hardworking and loving husband, father and grandfather, who always put his family first. He was always happy and had a contagious laugh. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Thomas of the home; his son Chris Thomas and wife Mandy of Hickory; granddaughters Savannah Thomas and Addison Thomas both of Hickory; his mother Sally Thomas and his sisters Barbara Kelly, Roxanne Lail and Wanda Nail.
The family will have a gathering of friends and family, Monday, September 15, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home.
