She was born on November 11th, 1929, to the late Osha Herman Smith in Burke County.
Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband James Evans, a grandson Daniel Allen Evans, and a sister Hazel Smith Wilson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Larry (Martha) Evans of Hildebran and daughter Rita Evans Russell of the home; Grandsons, Michael Derrick Russell (Emily) of Connelly Springs, Rev. Cody M. Evans (Ashlee) of Wake Forest, Casey R. Evans (Holly) of New Orleans LA; and five great-grandsons.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 21st at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Hildebran. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45pm-1:45pm at the church. Rev. Dr. Cory Smith, her grandson Rev. Cody Evans, and Rev. Ronald Arndt will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hildebran and Carolina Caring of Newton.
