Hollie Moretz Dockery

Hollie was a beloved and cherished individual, known for her kind-hearted and faithful nature. She loved her family deeply and found joy in spending quality time with them. Hollie enjoyed attending festivals with Allen, dancing, and listening to beach music. She also had a great love for fresh, homemade bread, a simple pleasure that brought her happiness.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Tamara Jane Cooke, brother-in-law, Hoss Dockery, and sisters-in-law, Patricia Freeman and husband Robert, and W. Kaye Dockery; and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Sweetie.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Allen Dockery of the home, daughters; Tonya Teague of Granite Falls, Chae Torres and husband Mike of Wilmington, Nicky Bass of Marion, grandchildren; Brianna Torres of CA, Josh Torres of Boone, Kenedy Bass of Hickory, brother; Dale Moretz and wife Jamie of TN, brother-in-law, Reverend James Cooke Jr. of Hickory, niece, Marsha Eller and husband Michael of Hickory, sister-in-law, Annette Setzer and husband Randy of Hudson, and 9 nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend James Cooke Jr. will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
