HICKORY---Jennie Kay Benfield McCaslin, 60, passed away February 23, 2015 after a period of declining health. Jennie was born June 24, 1954 in Catawba Co. to the late Perry Brice and Sadie Pearl Newton Benfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Perry Stephen “Bird” Benfield. She attended East Hickory Baptist Church in the past and retired from Hancock & Moore Furniture. Surviving are her daughter, Carrie Barlow and fiancé, David Cercone of Shelby Township, MI. Services will be Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Duke officiating. Interment will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11:30 A. M. – 12:45 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
