Mrs. Jewell Fields Niday

Jewell was born January 10th, 1930 in Roan County West Virginia to the late Fenton and Vesta Spencer Fields.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Niday, two grand children Jason and Alex, and two brothers, Award and Larry Fields.

Jewell was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. Her greatest loves in life have been her children, grandchildren and her dog.

Surviving are her husband; Ross M. Niday of the home, two daughters; Patricia Niday and husband, Dr. Otto Teixeira of Johnson City, TN and Jane Carpenter and Spike of Hickory, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a sister, Golda Conley and husband Bob of Charleston, West Virginia and a brother; Junior Fields and wife Ruth of Tariff, West Virginia and a sister-in-law; Joan Fields of Lakeland Fl.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7th 2010, at 3:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ernie Richards officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 7th, 2010 at Hickory Funeral Home from 1:45 P.M. until 2:45 P.M..

Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.
