JoAnn Josie Smith Jenkins

Jo Ann was born May 30, 1938 in Catawba Co. to the late Gilbert Lee and Neva Saine Smith. She was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church and was secretary-bookkeeper for 48 years for Buck’s Baits, Inc. Surviving are her daughter; Gina Lynne Poovey and husband, Chuck, of Hickory; son, Scott Douglas Jenkins and wife, Rebecca, of Lincolnton; granddaughters, Anna Lynne Poovey of Charlotte and Mackenzie Grace Jenkins of Lincolnton; grandsons, Andrew Logan Poovey of Hickory, Isaac Norman Jenkins of Lincolnton and Thomas Scott Jenkins of Lincolnton; brother, Stanley Gilbert Smith and wife, Judy Hager of Hickory. Services will be Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 3:00 P. M. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Rankin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:45 – 2:45 P. M. at Zion Lutheran Church.
