In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce G. Hurley, and two brothers, George Ward and Clayne Ward.
Local survivors include her son-in-law, Rev. Jerry Hurley of Hickory, NC, and granddaughter, Tammy H. Smith of Maiden, NC.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maryville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lakeview Baptist Church, 4080 N. Center St, Hickory, NC 28601.
