Katherine Irene (Houston) Teague

Born March 12, 1930, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late James Allen and Lilly Christine Stafford Houston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Henderson Frank Teague Jr., sisters Alice Bowman, Nellie Teague, and Patsy Pennington, and her daughters-in-law Pauline Holtsclaw Teague and Debbie Watts Teague and granddaughter Barbara Jean Roberts.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Teague and wife Emily of Hickory, Joyce Teague Hefner and husband Robert Gary of Conover, Frank Teague of Hickory, Joann Teague Roberts and husband Dennis of Hickory and Phyllis Teague Starnes and husband Lee of Granite Falls; grandchildren Crystal Dieter, Richie Teague (Cathy), Brian Hefner (Paula), Micheal Hefner, Ron Teague (Emily) Mike Athey (Terri), Carl Athey (Stefanie), Bethany Lingle (Derrick), Meleah Huffman (Joseph), Julie Hepler ( Ronnie), Andy Secrest (Beth), and Danny Roberts; 34 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; brothers James Houston, Tommy Houston, and Floyd Houston, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm at Mountain Grove Baptist Church, 6156 Mountain Grove Road, Hickory, NC.

Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Barry Keys and Rev. Dr. Gray Little officiating.

Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The grandsons will be pallbearers: Mike Athey, Carl Athey, Richie Teague, Ron Teague, Brian Hefner and Micheal Hefner.
