Kevin was born on October 12, 1959, and grew up in Brevard, North Carolina, where his mother still resides. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by compassion, service, and a deep commitment to helping others.
For more than 20 years, Kevin devoted his life to supporting men in recovery from substance use. As Assistant Director at Caldwell House, he poured hope, encouragement, and steady guidance into the lives of countless individuals seeking a better path. To many, Kevin was far more than a mentor — he was a trusted voice in difficult moments, a source of wisdom, and someone who believed in others even when they struggled to believe in themselves.
Kevin’s impact cannot be measured in numbers, but it is reflected in the many lives he helped change. Through his work and his relationships, he built a legacy of compassion, service, and quiet strength that will continue to live on in those he influenced.
He is survived by his loving mother, Freddie Hart of Brevard, North Carolina; his brother, Todd Norris; seven nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also remembered by a wide community of friends, colleagues, and individuals whose lives were touched by his kindness and dedication.
Kevin’s passing is a profound loss to his family, the Caldwell House community, and the broader recovery community. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his steady presence, and his unwavering commitment to helping others find hope.
Services will be handled by the family and the local AA chapter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Caldwell House of Lenoir or simply reach out to someone in need and offer your kindness in Kevin’s memory.
