Lanae Hunt Whitener

HICKORY - Lanae Hunt Whitener, 77, passed away September 19, 2014 at Brian Center-Viewmont. Lanae was born September 30, 1936 in Catawba Co. to the late Percy Earnest and Lona Pearl Hefner Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Eugene Whitener; son, Brian Keith Whitener; 3 sisters and 6 brothers. She was a member of Unity Lutheran Church and retired from the furniture industry.

Surviving are her son; Timothy Eugene Whitener and wife, Kathy, of Hickory; grandsons, Ashley James Whitener of Panama City, Panama, Timothy Zane Whitener of Havelock, Jarrett Richards of Holly Springs; granddaughter, Laura R. Fanzo and husband, Angelo, of Holly Springs and great grandsons; Nicholas and Noah Fanzo. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 24, from 1:45 until 2:45 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home. A memorial service will be Wednesday, September 24, at 3:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Robert E. Allen officiating.
