He was born on June 30, 1958 to Bettie Rink Mims and the late Larry Milton Mims in Catawba County. Larry worked for Canella Heating & Air as a Service Technician.
Survivors include his wife Glenda Benfield Mims of the home; son, Jesse Mims and wife Casie of Four Oaks, NC; daughter, Heather Anderson and husband Jeffrey of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Samuel Anderson, Logan Mims, Rachel Mims; mother, Bettie Rink Mims of Bethlehem; and sister, Ila Starnes of Bethlehem.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Preachers will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church in Taylorsville.
