Larry Wayne Stone

Larry was born in Durham County, on September 23, 1951 to Hal Worth Stone and Emma Addison Stone. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Daisy Myrtle and Walter James Stone; his daughter Karey Stone and his mother-in-law Frankie Reed. A loving husband, father, step-father and grandfather, Larry, enjoyed spending time with his children, playing golf, vacationing at the beach, classic old cars and beach music; he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He has worked as a Sales Manager for HT Hackney Service Merchandisers for 38 years. He is survived by his wife Sherry Hefner Stone of the home; son Christopher Wayne Stone of the home; his daughters Abbey Stone of the home and Kacey Kirven and husband Michael of Raleigh: step-daughter Shelly Meece and husband Jon of Hickory; step-son Blake Shook and wife Terri of Taylorsville and 7 grandchildren Caleb, Emma, Chancelor, Tanner, Dalton, Katelyn and Carson and father-in-law James Hefner. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Arthur Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
